Here Are The Top YouTube Stars From Around The World

youtube-on-top-of-the-worldMaking videos on YouTube for a living isn't an unheard of occupation anymore.

Some YouTube partners have made over a million dollars from their videos while plenty others are pulling in six-figures. How do they do it? You either make unique videos that turn "viral" or focus on creating consistent content that builds up an audience and increases views.

The top YouTube partners are the ones who call it their full-time jobs. Some partners churn out videos once-a-week while others make a new one everyday.

Looking at statistics from TubeMogul, we're tracking the top independent YouTube partners and ranking them based off of monthly views, average views per video, and positive reception from the YouTube community. This data provides the basis for our monthly power rankings of YouTube stars.

YouTube Is Giving Away $35,000 To Unknown Partners Who Want To Be YouTube Stars

youtube-cash-thumb

YouTube is giving up to 25 up-and-coming partners, with less than 300,000 subscribers, $35,000 to become the next big YouTube stars.

The initiative, called YouTube NextUp, also includes a four-day "YouTube Creator Camp" and the partners' channel and videos will be promoted on the site.

It makes sense for YouTube to promote its partners as some of them have become millionaires because of their videos. Google's recent acquisition of Next New Networks is also meant to help existing YouTube partners. Next New Networks will act as a management team for partners to make more and better videos.

You can find out more about the YouTube NextUp program here.

YouTube Stars Are Now Making Over $1 Million (GOOG)

youtube-cash-thumb

YouTube partners are making over $1 million off of their videos, according to the NYPost.

We all knew that a bunch of YouTube stars were pulling in six-figures a year, but who knew that some of these guys (and gals?) have become millionaires? Then again, it shouldn't be that big of a surprise to hear about YouTube millionaires when you look at the whole picture of potential revenue streams in banner, pre-roll and overlay ads in addition to sponsored videos and merchandise sales.

"Sponsorships are where money is right now," YouTube star Cory Williams of SMPFilms told us in an interview from last September.

Google has also announced that it's running ads on three billion YouTube videos a week – up 50% from last May. This is a reflection of more partnerships being accepted by YouTube while current partners churn out videos at a faster rate. One trend amongst popular YouTube partners is to create new YouTube channels that attract views from their hardcore fans.

From our discussions with various YouTube partners, we've always walked away amazed at how much work and dedication they put into their videos. It's unknown who the YouTube millionaires are, but we're sure they've done excellent work on-camera and behind the scenes to get those seven-figures.

Among the candidates are Rémi Gaillard (pictured), who just posted more of his real-life Mario Kart antics, and Keenan Cahill and his lip-syncing skills.

We looked at each partner's monthly views, average views per video, and percentage of "Likes" they received throughout January. Find out which YouTube partner is this month's most powerful YouTube star in the world.
