The Best Android Phones You Can Buy This Month (GOOG)

MWC Google Booth Android Guy

With a new Android phone or two coming out every month (or in some cases, every few weeks), it's tough to keep track of the latest and greatest.

Each month we round up the best Android phones on the market right now for each major carrier.

We take several factors into consideration for the list including speed, ease of use, price, and network quality.

HTC's Thunderbolt is already outselling the iPhone on Verizon

The HTC Thunderbolt is the first phone to run on Verizon's 4G network, and reports are saying it's already outselling the Verizon iPhone. That's pretty impressive.

This phone is a beast. The Thunderbolt has a huge 4.3 inch touchscreen, an 8 MP rear facing camera that shoots HD video, and runs Android 2.2 Froyo.

One of the best features is that it can act as a 4G mobile hotspot for wifi devices. We've heard users getting as much as 15 Mbps, which is faster than a lot of cable modem connections.

The only downside we've heard is the battery life. HTC claims you can get around six hours, but many reviewers have said it's more like four.

Price: $250 with a two-year contract from Verizon

The Atrix 4G is our favorite Android phone on AT&T;

The Atrix 4G is the best phone on AT&T right now. (Although it doesn't have much competition).

Despite the controversy surrounding it's 4G speeds (or lack thereof), the device is excellent. It has a dual core processor, which means applications launch quickly, and game graphics look amazing.

If you decide to go for the Atrix, ditch the optional laptop dock accessory. It's not worth the extra $300.

Check out our review of the Atrix here.

Price: $199 with a two-year contract from AT&T

Google's Nexus S has the best version of Android

Google's Nexus S, which is manufactured by Samsung, is our Android phone of choice. It's running a clean version of the latest Android OS, 2.3 Gingerbread, meaning there are no extra apps or crapware from the manufacturer. With the Nexus S, you get to experience Android as Google intended you to.

The Nexus S is also unlocked, meaning it can run on any GSM carrier such as T-Mobile, AT&T, and several international networks, just by inserting your sim card.

Price: $99 with a two-year contract from T-Mobile. You can also buy it contract-free and unlocked for $529. Only available from Best Buy.
