I'm just back from a trip to Guilin and Beijing, China, which I'll be blogging about over the next few weeks. But one of the highlights and things I was most looking forward to was visiting with the staff of National Geographic Traveler China. The monthly magazine, published by the Trends publishing group, is doing phenomenal in China right now, thanks in large part to the exceptional work of their staff. Maggie Liao, their editor-in-chief, invited me in for a meet and greet with the team, where we were able to discuss trends in both of our travel markets and share our experiences. Then she and several of the staff: Tracy, Zoe, Luo Luo, and Moon, took me out and introduced me to some fabulous Beijing cuisine. With no English on the menu, we relied on our phones to help with the translations; I'm still not sure exactly what I ate, but it was delicious and great fun, and I'm so thrilled we had the chance to meet.
Thanks guys! Next time you're in the States, I look forward to hosting you here.
