Surprised you have $100 headphones etc listed but not AppleTV. Great price for creating an easy home theater and integrated audio system. Would also add in some nice cases skins, hopefully get some idea of the person's tastes first. You can get skins printed from various designs, maybe a good way to have a personalized gift that has some special meaning without risking the value of the item with laser etching. Get 'em a iTunes gift card and a simple glossy magazine that specializes in app reviews, this will help those folks that don't do apps much to get their feet wet transitioning from printed reviews to online reviews. Provide assistance as needed in helping trying out some of the apps, such as using a camera app with features to memorialize the holiday. For folks with a Mac, could get them a magic touchpad or magic mouse. Could get folks with older computers a webcam. Get folks an upgrade to iLife. If they install it immediately, help them make a movie trailer of video recorded that day. Lot of stuff is more exciting than a power adaptor. That is something you might get for yourself, but not a good gift. A backup adaptor is by default something that you hope not to use. It is even less exciting than a backup harddrive, which you will use and hope not to HAVE to use.

Totally agree about the TuneIn Radio app. Love it. Records streams without fuss. Syncs your favorites ("presets") with the radiotime.com site. The clincher for me is how it immediately shows songs and program names plus cover art for anything that's playing, even on saved audio. It's magic.

Sorry guys but I did not like the format of this episode. I enjoy the in depth demonstrations on each product, not a quick generic overview of a bunch of products in a single segment. Also you have already covered most of these devices in depth but you failed to even mention some of the other devices. I noticed you had a Netgear Push2TV device but did not mention it. I think these wireless display devices are the ultimate solution for cord cutters. These are the only devices that can offer true limitless internet video. No walled garden of apps, no imitation web browser that ultimately will control what you access, no new hardware controls to learn - just the full internet on the television. I would like to see some reviews of all the different wireless display products and a demo of that power line solution.

You Can Now Gift Anyone With An E-mail Address A Kindle Book

With the holiday shopping season in full swing, retailers are clamoring to publicize their sales, deals and more. Amazon issued a release today that customers can now give any of the 725,000 Kindle books to anyone with an email address. So a recipient doesn't need a Kindle to even receive an e-book. The normally data shy Amazon also revealed that the Kindle is the most gifted item in the company's history, and that "millions" of people are using the Kindle or Kindle apps to read books. Of course, those without a Kindle can read their e-books on the Kindle App for the iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices. Gifters can choose a book in the Kindle Store, and send give the e-book as a gift by simply inserting the recipient's email address. Recipients can redeem the gift in the Kindle Store to read on any Kindle or free Kindle app.
