I'd like to see a higher resolution screen but it seems very difficult. This is not like increasing the resolution of a laptop screen. The iPad apps are designed to work at the current resolution. That is why on the iPhone they could quadruple the number of pixels. Doubling the x and y resolution made it easy to change the apps.
Perhaps they'll find a way around this and we'll see an intermediate increase in resolution. More likely this will have to wait for 2012. Anyway, likely the screen quality will increase with the same number of pixels.
