Comment on Startup Lessons From Foursquare’s Dennis Crowley by Kobe Wadsworth

Here is one problem with this new way to communicate adds to people, first anyone can, and will be entering this space. When people sign up to social networks, and give information like location, phone numbers, birthday, city state, sex, marital status, interest, and so on. This info can be seen by anyone, and is. And enter the age of bot building, and info profile scraping. And now this presents a problem to all users of these networks. I have been on this page for quite sometime with mobile advertising, and there is going to be a problem for all mobile users. All that info input into social networks, can turn anyone into a mobile advertising agency, or company. I'm a recipient of such an activity, as I have just started getting text ads. And I for one did not ask for that. Now i'm going to help users fix this problem before it gets out of hand. Stop giving your phone nomber out on social networks. Here is the fix. Get google voice, use that number for your social networking, and Internet activities, Give only friends and family your assigned phone number from your carrier, and use your google voice everywhere else. then go into your google voice menu and turn off sms. you will still get the sms, only it will be on your google voice page, not forwarded to your phone. And this is how we nip this in the bud. This will not effect any Places, or forthsquare that you have signed on to. Those companies are doing the right things, with giving you options to accept or not there offers. Sorry for all the text in this piece, But trust me, this is going to get real bad, as far as mobile users, being hammered with adds they do not want. This is the perfect fix. And i'm glad to be able to help. Thanks Kobe Wadsworth.
