I love my windows convertable tablet. Has come in handy and still performs better than the ipad in some situations since it has a digitizer. Microsoft just seemed hung up on the idea that a tablet should run a full fledged OS. At the time it was obvious that MS did not have the software to run a barebones OS readily available. Apple decided to run its iOS on an tablet, thus creating a great tablet OS that many people doubted would work (including myself). Loving my windows tablet, I picked up the ipad on day one. It was alright at first, but as the app market grew and diversified it has really helped the iPad meet nearly all of my educational and business needs. So there you go laughing boy, thats how MS and nearly every other company missed it. As for the article, who are those 10% that are not aware of an iPad?

Again, Stacey Higginbotham continues to spout the usual BS, denying the existence of competitive ISPs and promoting stifling, onerous regulation that would kill them. (This, of course, is all consistent with Google's corporate party line.) Stacey likewise denies the market power of content providers such as Google - perhaps because Google is a sponsor of this site and pays a goodly portion of her salary. Given this financial motivation, we probably can't ever expect unbiased or truthful reporting from Stacey or from this site.

I really resonated with the ideas delivered in 37signals' first book (ebook). They made a lot of sense and my own personal experiences led me to agree with a lot of what they were saying. I followed their svn blog for quite some time. But lately, their attitude is starting to rub me the wrong way. A lot of what they say is still accurate, and useful, and it's good to have an opinion, or be moderately opinionated. But they appear to be convinced that absolutely everything they say is correct, and any disagreement thereof is just blind ignorance. That is a myopic, infallible attitude very much like the attitudes they're railing against. And 'no talk thursdays' - what am I, a kid in school again? That's just dictatorial - another characteristic of that infallible, opinionated, we're always right attitude.
