Spotify set to launch in US within days

Spotify US is now in T-minus territory. The popular European on-demand music streaming service will be available stateside within a matter of days, according to sources familiar with the company's US launch plan. As we've reported, Spotify's US debut has been slated for mid-July.

It's Official! Spotify Announces U.S. Launch

Spotify just announced it's launching in the U.S. soon.

There's no word on a date, pricing, or the rumored Facebook integration, but you can enter your e-mail address on its U.S. site to be notified when it becomes available.

We first got wind of the announcement from this tweet by Michelle Kadir, Spotify's director of product development.

Google Ready To Launch A New Travel Search Site (GOOG)

Google is getting ready to launch a new travel service with data gained in its $700 million acquisition of ITA.

TechCrunch reports that the new travel service will launch in a few weeks and will be integrated with Google Maps, so users will be able to choose destinations on a map and see prices to fly there.

Google will also return search results based on a user's IP address and search terms -- so if it knows you're in New York searching for beach vacations, it will show flights to Florida -- and will include pricing info in search results.

Pricing info, along with predictions of whether prices will rise or fall, has been available on Microsoft's Bing search engine for a few years now. The prediction info comes from Microsoft's 2008 acquisition of Farecast.

Get ready for something "awesome" from the only social network that matters.

Mark Zuckerberg told reporters Facebook is "launch something awesome" next week.

He didn't reveal much else, but if we had to guess it would be an iPad app.

However, Zuckerberg said whatever it is that is being revealed was made in its new Seattle office.

Google is going to be launching its own digital music service tomorrow, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Like Amazon before it, Google is going to launch without the support of major music labels.

Users will be able to load their music into Google's digital service then stream it to Android devices and Flash-enabled websites.
