Point of Beginning Magazine reports in their October issue that Missouri has embarked on a statewide height modernization survey. The magazine reported that private surveyors joined their state and federal colleauges in August to begin work on the project. Surveyors in all 114 Missouri counties collected high-quality survey grade GPS data at the same time on benchmarks set near stream gauges in the state. The stream gauge measurements will be tied to a common high-quality vertical datum after the project is complete.
