That is a Dell Streak. Talk about irony... The reason for a Nexus model is that developers can get a current build on the device. The Streak was stuck at 1.6 when I ditched it not too long ago. Sad.

I use TMobile prepaid with my Nexus one and very happy with it, The day data pass costs $1.50 for when I travel, but otherwise wifi only is just fine,
